There are times in ones life when you just give up! These times when you give up on someone, is not because you don't care anymore, but because you realise they don't.
This sad but real realisation can at times shatter the soul. However, the courage and strength to do so surpasses everything!
Giving Up
Author: rifkab /All Souls Day
Author: rifkab /One day in the year when the graveyard looks like a candlelight party with flowers and flickering wicks dancing in the winds....
A day in the christian calendar when one is supposed to remember the dear departed.
I wonder if all the souls actually gather on this day or do they feel sad that they are only remembered on this one day?

Words...
Author: rifkab /As i sifted through my pile of notes i chance up this one dusty but familiar note written by a muffinman i once knew. Are these words that just rhyme or are they deeper words sublime...

Turning Tables - Treasured Favorite
Author: rifkab /I somehow really relate to this song...i love her voice and the way she brings out both pain and conviction in her voice...
The lyrics:
Close enough to start a war,
All that I have is on the floor,
God only knows what we're fighting for,
All that I say, you always say more,
I can't keep up with your turning tables,
Under your thumb, I can't breathe,
So I won't let you close enough to hurt me,
No, I won't rescue you, you to just desert me,
I cant give you the heart you think you gave me,
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables,
To turning tables,
Under haunted skies I see you, ooh,
Where love is lost, your ghost is found,
I braved a hundred storms to leave you,
As hard as you try, no, I will never be knocked down,
I can't keep up with your turning tables,
Under your thumb, I can't breathe,
So I won't let you close enough to hurt me,
No, I won't rescue you, you to just desert me,
I cant give you the heart you think you gave me,
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables,
Turning tables,
Next time I'll be braver,
I'll be my own savior,
When the thunder calls for me,
Next time I'll be braver,
I'll be my own savior,
Standing on my own two feet,
I won't let you close enough to hurt me,
No, I won't rescue you, you to just desert me,
I can't give you the heart you think you gave me,
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables,
To turning tables,
Turning tables, yeah,
Turning, no, ooh.
Invisible Friend
Author: rifkab /As i sit here all alone amidst these stark walls with a feeling of being totally bereft, i suddenly feel a presence, a feeling hard to describe. I just know you've come, coz you are the only one who arrives unannounced especially at times when i feel so lost.
Oh i wish you were real, i wish, but alas, my invisible friend, you can only but listen to my woes. I wish you'd talk back and tell me your thoughts, i wish we could go for a long walk and bicker and snigger.
At times like these of total gloom, i really wish you came alive in this room...
Don't we all just need that someone at that point of total despair but sadly i think most us have to just rely on our invisible friend...
Break Point
Author: rifkab /Take the example of the trees that sway in a storm. The ones that don't try to stand up straight, tall and erect and allow themselves to bend and be blown with the wind; well they are the ones that understand the power of letting go and surrendering to the unknown. For those trees and those branches that try too hard to stand up strong and straight are the ones that break.
Impulsiveness
Author: rifkab /I found this beautiful quote on compassion and impulses by Eric Hoffer
"Compassion is the antitoxin of the soul: where there is compassion even the most poisonous impulses remain relatively harmless."
Reacting on an impulse can have serious repercussions but the presence of compassion super cedes everything. The sad part that i have come across in my life is that there is very little room left for compassion.
Everyone is caught up in the rat race called life! Do we really stop, see and think, that a single action or word or gesture can make a difference to someone or something?
Judge or Condemn
Author: rifkab /I came across this note and it really made me stop and question something i tend to do unknowingly most of the time.
Here's the note:
